My Journey: From Intern to Full-Time
When I started as a Finance Operations Intern at Glints, I had no idea how much it would shape me. In the beginning, I mainly helped with billing tasks, checking incoming payments and issuing invoices. It might sound simple, but it really trained me to be detail-oriented and careful with numbers.
Over time, I was trusted with more responsibilities. I started supporting the Accounts Payable side as well, reviewing payment requests from different teams, especially marketing. This was where I began to see how finance connects with other functions in the company.
This was where I felt my role shifted from purely operational to something more analytical.
Another important moment was when I started collaborating more closely with different stakeholders. It helped me understand the bigger picture of how finance supports the business, not just internally but also in relation to clients. I believe consistently delivering accurate work and being responsive played a big role in my conversion to a full-time role.
Looking back, I'm really grateful for the trust and opportunities given by the team. Being able to grow from handling basic finance tasks to supporting closing and financial analysis has been a very meaningful journey and ultimately led to my transition into a full-time role.
Growth & Advice for Future Interns
Looking back, my internship experience really shaped both how I work and how I see growth. One thing I've learned is that as an intern, you shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes. In fact, making mistakes is part of the process and honestly, it's where the most valuable learning comes from. As interns, we're not expected to know everything from the start, so it's okay to get things wrong as long as we're willing to learn, ask questions, and improve from it.
Another thing I realized is that growth doesn't come from just doing what's written in your job description. If you only stick to your initial scope, you might miss a lot of learning opportunities. Try to go beyond that — be curious, take initiative, and don't be afraid to explore areas outside your role.
Over time, it helps you understand the business better, build stronger relationships, and gain more trust from the team.
At the end of the day, it's really about mindset — being open to learning, willing to try, and not being afraid to step out of your comfort zone. That's what helps you grow faster and make the most out of your internship experience.
Why Glints Supports Intern Growth
What makes Glints a place where interns can really grow into full-time roles, in my opinion, is the environment and the people. Glints creates a very positive and supportive space, especially for interns, where you're given both trust and room to learn.
From my own experience, I made quite a lot of mistakes during my internship and honestly, even after converting to a full-time role and taking on new responsibilities, I still made mistakes along the way. But what stood out to me is how the team responds.
Because of that, I never felt afraid to try. I felt safe to ask questions, take initiative, and even step into things I wasn't fully confident in yet. That kind of environment really helped me grow faster.
On top of that, interns at Glints are given real responsibilities, not just small tasks. You get to be involved in actual business processes, work with different teams, and see how your work contributes to the bigger picture. Combined with a supportive team, it creates a learning experience that feels meaningful.
I think that's what makes the difference — when you're in an environment where you're trusted, supported, and not afraid to make mistakes, you naturally grow.
