The KPI Institute is a research institute specializing in business performance. It operates research programs in 12 practice domains, ranging from strategy and KPIs to employee performance and customer service to innovation performance. Insights are disseminated through various publications, subscription services, and a knowledge platform available to registered members. Support in deploying these insights in practice. A recently initiated research project is dedicated to applying management systems in personal life. The Institute for Life Management Science (ILMS) is a global research organization that aims to establish Life Management Science as an integrative discipline by combining managerial science approaches with social sciences. A multi-disciplinary research team explores the
structure and application of personal management systems supported by a comprehensive scientific and practice-driven body of knowledge across 12 foundation domains. The ILMS initiative's products are training, templates, toolkits, publications (articles and research reports), podcast content, and others.
Position Overview:
ILMS - The Institute for Life Management Science is seeking a dedicated Grant Writer / Funding Manager to play a crucial role in securing financial support for our organization. Operating as a social enterprise, ILMS aims to foster collaborations with researchers, institutes, and universities. The Funding Manager will be responsible for initiating and managing these collaborations, as well as identifying and securing grants and funding opportunities to support ILMS's mission and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to identify and cultivate relationships with potential funding sources, including private donors, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and corporate partners.
- Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to ILMS's research areas and organizational goals.
- Prepare grant proposals, applications, and funding requests, ensuring alignment with ILMS's objectives and requirements of funding organizations.
- Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including gathering necessary documentation, coordinating with team members for input, and submitting applications by deadlines.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners,
- collaborators, and funding agencies to enhance ILMS's visibility and funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with researchers, and other team members to develop compelling narratives and evidence-based proposals for funding opportunities.
- Monitor and track progress of grant applications, funding requests, and collaborations, providing regular updates to the leadership team and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on trends, policies, and best practices in fundraising, grant writing, and philanthropy to inform ILMS's funding strategies and approaches.
- Represent ILMS at meetings, conferences, and events to network with potential partners and donors, and promote awareness of ILMS's mission and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, communications, or nonprofit management; advanced degree or certification in fundraising or grant writing preferred.
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development, with a track record of successful grant awards and securing funding from diverse sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ILMS's mission, goals, and impact to diverse audiences.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify funding opportunities, gather relevant data, and craft compelling proposals.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and
- maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the scientific research landscape, funding mechanisms, and ethical
- considerations in research funding preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and grant management software/tools.
- Commitment to ILMS's mission of advancing life management science through research,
- education, and collaboration.
