The Opportunity
The Marketing & PR Manager is responsible at a strategic and operational level for the development, planning and execution of all marketing and public relations activities to ensure overall school objectives are achieved. The primary function of job holder is to provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring marketing effect on roll growth, the raising of school and brand awareness and profile within Singapore, SE Asia and across the world, managing business operation effectiveness, improvement of processes and instigation and leadership of all public relations activities.

Job Description
- Work with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Taylor’s Schools to develop strategic marketing plans that ensure effective spend of marketing budget for Nexus International School, Singapore and across Nexus Schools
- Take a leadership role within the school, across all academic and administrative departments to promote the aims and goals of the marketing department
- Develop and recommend marketing strategies to meet business goals
- Analyse market trends and competitors and provide recommendations for SLT
- Establish and ensure a strong platform for CRM programs, tailored to fit the demands of the international education sector in Singapore
- Ensure comprehensive market research and data collection from all stakeholders, prospective and current, and drive proactive analysis and justified operational recommendations
- Make effective use of all resources available to the marketing department, nurturing the strengths and aspirations of existing key personnel
- Analyse the effectiveness of online campaigns, SEO and SEM and make recommendations for refinement and effective, justified spend in all allocated areas
- Oversee a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas
- Maintain and analyse all expenses for marketing activities to ensure cost effectiveness against budget
- Ensure that Nexus brand is proactively maintained within the prescribed Corporate Identity guidelines, promoting strong ties and a single vision across Nexus Schools
- Ensure clarity and uniformity of all forms of communication to stakeholders
- Liaise with partners and 3rd parties on all above and below the line media as appropriate
- Oversee liaison with appointed agency on media strategy, bookings, copy and layouts
- Prepare and deliver business review presentations as appropriate, to cover internal needs, those across Nexus Schools, and also at the Strategic Priorities Alignment (SPA) level across the Taylor’s Schools Group
- Hold overall responsibility for the content and effectiveness of the school website with a drive for continuous improvement
- Responsible for the instigation, planning, delivery and refinement of public relations events and activities
- Responsible for managing all public relations events and activities to maintain and augment the awareness of NISS in the marketplace
- Establish contracts for workshops and special events, and establish strong ties with key influencing groups in Singapore
- Ensure all press releases are appropriate, accurate and representative, and are sent to media in a timely manner to meet editorial deadlines
- Plan and execute all branding events and public relations activities
- Keep track of all editorial coverage reporting
- Act as Event Manager for large-scale events held in school, managing and influencing diverse teams across all departments (academic and administrative) and the students
Requirements
Qualifications and Training
A minimum diploma/degree in Marketing/Business Administration/Public Relations
Excellent written and oral communication and oral presentation skills
Experience
Significant marketing/public relations/event management experience
Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in management/ leadership. Experience within international education sector a distinct advantage. Established network contacts within the media/education/public relations industries would also be an advantage
Minimum 3 years experience managing a team (effective and established team in place)
Knowledge and Understanding
Knowledge and Understanding
Strong experience and understanding of online and digital media placement, spend, analysis, SEM and SEO is essential
Excellent financial analytical skills, ability to function in a fast-paced environment and embrace the company’s corporate philosophy
Excellent and established leadership and organizational skills
Creativity and proficiency in required computer skills
Professional and flexible attitude towards change and continuous improvement essential
Flexibility and capability to absorb responsibility for elements of marketing across two schools, or a group of schools in different countries
Good sense of humour and understanding of the needs and demands of stakeholders from all economic backgrounds across 50 different nationalities
