Job description for Video Editor at Beyondsoft International
- Be a team player from project start to finish, which means working with key players during all stages of the video production process from providing input on concepts, scripts, production needs, timelines, and specifications, collaborating on the creation of shot lists and storyboards, all the way to final cuts.
- Frequently interface with stakeholders to receive early feedback from the Director and the Creative Team.
- Create video edits that keep the audience engaged, making the viewer unable to stop watching.
- Review, sort, and tag raw footage according to the suggested file structure and naming conventions.
- Work with music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
- Create rough and final cuts.
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth flow of the videos, making sure the video edits comply with the provided creative briefs, scripts, and other input documentation.
- Create video format variations based on the list of deliverables.
- Add metadata and closed captions.
- Create and implement QA/QC procedures.
- Continuously discover and adapt new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Video Editor.
- Fluent in English conversation is a MUST
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Final Cut).
- A strong portfolio that exemplifies a broad range of post-production work.
- Creative mind and storytelling skills, ability to follow direction.
- Deep understanding of social media formats and best practices.
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
- Working knowledge of special effects, 3D, motion tracking, and compositing.
