THE ROLE:
- As a sous chef for a western restaurant, your role is crucial in assisting the head chef in running the kitchen smoothly and efficiently
Responsibilities:
- Support the head chef in planning menus, creating dishes, and overseeing overall kitchen operations.
- Participate in food preparation activities such as cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking dishes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items or specials based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Ensure that all food leaving the kitchen meets high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
- Help in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks and prep cooks, and ensure that they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff and ensuring that all team members follow standardized recipes and cooking techniques.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in a Sous Chef or senior kitchen role.
- Good English communication
- Strong expertise in Western cuisine.
- Experience in menu development, buffet, and canapé-style catering.
- Flexible time to work
- Leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team.
- Knowledge of cost control, inventory, and kitchen operations.
