Job description for Research Assistant (Political Science) at Adam Smith Center
- Reviewing and synthesising theories, concepts and arguments from various academic sources in political science
- Review and summarise criticisms, analyses and theories made about Singapore's governance from journals, books and research reports, and identifying potential areas for reform in the areas of gender equality, environmenal conservation, protection of civil liberties and equal rights.
- Conducting academic research on the political and economic institutions of Singapore, their interaction, and how they may be evaluated from a critical perspective, including from the lens of feminism, green political theory and Marxism / Left-Egalitarianism.
- Editing, proofreading and copywriting of research reports and publications
- Individual will have to sign a confidentiality agreement to ensure confidentiality of any sensitive information being handled
- Must be full-time current university undergraduate student at a local university with a strong command of written English, social sciences undergraduates preferred.
- Undergraduates who major in Political Science are prioritised. Interns should ideally also have an interest in Singapore issues and governance.
