TITLE : RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
SUMMARY OF ROLE: Under the supervision of Policy Director, the R&D Manager will assist the Policy Director and/or policy-related projects in providing best evidence, research, and information necessary towards the provision of evidence-based policy.
1. Coordinating research and build organisational capacity on research
● Coordinating and assisting research activities in CISDI across projects
● Coordinating and maintaining effective relationships with researchers and potential Principal Investigators
● Assisting and controlling quality of all research projects across divisions, including but not limited to research designs, methods, data management strategies, data analysis, and publication writing
● Organizing knowledge and skills sharing to increase organizational research capacity
• Orchestrated and high-quality research projects and products
• Increased organizational capacity on research
2. Creating knowledge and bridging knowledge gap towards evidence-informed policy making
● Searching for new evidence or creating new knowledge that contributes to the achievement of the organization/national priorities through primary or secondary data collection
• High-quality and of high relevance research products
3. Translating learning into new knowledge and research products
● Assist the Policy Director together with the Policy department to identify and develop research priorities and strategies
● Assist the Policy department to undertake informed and effective analysis necessary to produce policy relevant materials
● Translating learning obtained from projects into new knowledge and research products, including the dissemination process

● Managing human resources, budget, projects under R&D, including ensuring projects are executed successfully and completed within time frames to meet research objectives
● R&D division’s targets are achieved
● Other work/support for other projects/divisions deemed necessary by supervisor

Relevant qualifications, skills and experience:
Minimum Qualifications
● Master’s in public health or health economics or other relevant fields
● A minimum of five years professional experience in public health research or other relevant topics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
● Experience in managing research grants and programs or other similar international organization funds/programs
● Hands-on experiences in:
o Implementation research and or impact evaluation will be beneficial
o Creating detailed and high quality work of research protocols
o Supervising research projects
● advanced knowledge and skills of programming and statistical analysis techniques and high level of proficiency with statistic software (e.g STATA, etc)
● demonstrates good knowledge and skills of various research methods is a plus
● Experience in using and managing large-scale quantitative survey data
