Job description for Purchasing Marine at PT Samudera Inovasi Mandiri

Qualification

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the marine or shipping industry.
  • Solid understanding of various services required for vessels, including docking, overhaul, inspection, cleaning, and more.
  • Proficient in end-to-end purchasing processes in accordance with SOPs: from request submission, price analysis, PO issuance, GR, to invoice handling.
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents or vessel requirements.
  • Experienced in using the Odoo system.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with vendors and technicians.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and accurate in documentation.
  • Proactive and responsive in handling urgent situations (e.g., emergency repairs, breakdowns).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full procurement process of vessel-related services, including docking & repair, general maintenance, vessel certification & inspection, calibration, cleaning, and equipment servicing.
  • Review and verify service requests from vessels or technical superintendents.
  • Source suitable vendors, conduct price and term negotiations, and compare quotations.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs), and follow up on service execution.
  • Ensure vendors meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and that work results comply with company standards.
  • Coordinate with logistics, vessel technicians, and operations teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
  • Maintain accurate reports and documentation related to service procurement.
  • Conduct regular vendor evaluations together with the QA/Technical team.
