Job description for IT Support Officer at Gan Teck Kar Investments Pte Ltd
Responsibilities
- Provide First Call Resolution (FCR) technical support via phone and email and ensure all calls and emails are responded to in a timely manner.
- Perform technical support for Information Technology (IT) – Includes troubleshooting and general preventative maintenance of computer systems, servers, switches, wireless and routers, printers, network storage systems, and any other Company authorised peripheral equipment
- Support ongoing operations and functioning of IT infrastructure in head office, as well as Point-of-Sale (POS) system in our café.
- Support testing and installation of new applications and update patches.
- Liaise with Vendors and System providers to perform troubleshooting, rectification and assistance in all system upgrading works.
- Resolve complaints / feedback and escalate to various levels and functional groups accordingly
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for all IT-related matters, including IT infrastructure components and IT operation processes.
- Monitor and respond to server and system notification emails.
- Responsible for tracking hardware and software inventory.
- Check warranty status and manage ordering of replacement parts.
- Provide general administrative support where required.
- Perform in-house repairs and testing of equipment.
- Any ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in IT or any IT-related discipline.
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant working experience in desktop support / IT support or in similar roles
- Possess working knowledge and expertise of a variety of software, hardware, and applications, including Windows, Active Directory Account Administration, MS Outlook and mobile devices support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - able to demonstrate practical troubleshooting and problem analysis techniques.
- Good time-management to prioritize and manage numerous projects
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Possess team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems.
- Motivated, disciplined and possess a service mindset.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with PRC associates for business communication
