Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional, high-caliber Country Representative / Country Director to lead, scale, and orchestrate our entire business operations in Indonesia. Based in Surabaya, you will act as the principal executive leader in the country, holding full P&L accountability. You will be responsible for driving business growth, optimizing cross-border logistics infrastructure, and leading a high-performing local team to expand our market footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Country Leadership: Formulate and execute comprehensive business strategies to drive commercial growth across B2B enterprise clients and major e-commerce platforms in Indonesia.
- Full P&L & Financial Accountability: Take ownership of the country's profit and loss (P&L) statements, manage operational budgets, enforce cost-efficiency models, and optimize ROI.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee and optimize multi-modal international transport frameworks (Sea, Air, and Inter-Island shipping), bonded-zone logistics, and overseas warehouse fulfillment operations.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Relations: Act as the primary liaison to build strategic alliances with carrier networks, global express agencies (DHL, FedEx, UPS setups), custom clearance authorities, and corporate clients.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all business operations strictly align with Indonesian local trade laws, BKPM investment policies, and local customs (Bea Cukai) regulatory frameworks.
- Headquarters Syncing: Act as the strategic bridge between local operations and the corporate headquarters in China, delivering clear performance reports and financial loops.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Logistics Management, International Trade, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of solid leadership experience within international freight forwarding, express logistics, cross-border e-commerce supply chain, or global shipping industries.
- Proven experience at an executive level (General Manager, VP, or Director) successfully managing large multi-functional teams (10–50 employees) and substantial operational budgets.
- Must be willing to be based in or relocate to Surabaya, Indonesia, with high mobility for regional and international travel.
- Elite professional communication skills in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both spoken and written, alongside Indonesian. Must be capable of pitching to international clients in English and syncing on financial loops with Chinese corporate HQ.
- Exceptional instinct for integrating scattered regional logistics networks, negotiating carrier contract rates, and resolving emergency shipping or custom blockages under pressure.
- Deep structural comprehension of Indonesian local industry customs clearance legalities, bonded-zone restrictions, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong commercial mindset focused on cost tracking, financial auditing, and budgeting.
