Typical responsibilities include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware.
- Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft Office, email, VPN, and network connectivity issues.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures or coordinating repairs.
- Managing user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory (if applicable).
- Installing software, applying patches, and performing system updates.
- Supporting LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi-Fi, switches, and basic network devices.
- Handling incident tickets within agreed service levels (SLAs).
- Escalating unresolved issues to L3 engineers or specialized teams.
- Documenting troubleshooting steps and maintaining IT asset inventories.
- Providing technical support directly to end users.
Skills typically required
- Windows 10/11 administration
- Microsoft 365/Office support
- Active Directory and Group Policy (basic to intermediate)
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network troubleshooting
- Printer and peripheral support
- Remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Microsoft Remote Assistance)
- Ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
