OBJECTIVE:
The Country Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all tax matters and tax strategies of the Group’s companies in Vietnam. This role ensures compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, optimizes tax obligations, manages tax risks, and provides tax advisory support to management on financial and business decisions. The position will coordinate and consolidate tax-related information from five manufacturing sites across Vietnam, including Binh Duong, Long An, Dong Thap, Ha Nam, and Hai Duong, to ensure consistent tax practices and compliance with the Group’s policies and statutory requirements.
Working independently and reporting directly to the Country Finance.
DESCRIPTIONS:
1. Tax Compliance Management
Ensure all tax obligations in Vietnam, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT), and other applicable taxes, are accurately calculated, filed, and paid in a timely manner in compliance with local regulations.
2. Tax Risk Management & Tax Audits
Develop and maintain a robust tax risk control framework. Proactively review accounting and tax records, identify high-risk areas, prepare supporting documentation, and liaise directly with tax authorities during tax audits and inspections. Act as a key line of defense in minimizing tax exposures, penalties, and reputational risks.
3. Tax Planning & Optimization
Research, evaluate, and implement applicable tax incentives, Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTA), deferred tax considerations, transfer pricing regulations, and legal structures to optimize the Group’s tax position in a compliant manner. Assess tax implications of business activities and provide tax insights and recommendations to support management’s strategic decision-making.
4. Investment & Business Advisory
Assess tax implications and provide advisory support for cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business expansion initiatives, and other investment projects.
5. Customs & Trade Tax Management
Coordinate and oversee matters related to import-export duties, HS code classification, customs valuation, tax exemptions, and tax refund policies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Law, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in taxation, preferably gained from leading tax advisory firms, audit firms, or multinational corporations (FDI companies).
• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese tax regulations and a solid understanding of international tax principles and practices.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
