JOB DESCRIPTION
Weighbridge operations
- Conduct assigned inbound and outbound weighbridge transactions in line with company SOPs and supervisor instruction.
- Check physical cargo, truck information, delivery documents and system entries for consistency before releasing transactions or escalating issues.
- Record weight, cargo movement details and other required information accurately and on time.
- Report abnormal readings, missing documents, system problems or equipment issues to the Logistic Supervisor with clear facts.
- Prepare routine weighbridge records and basic reports as required.
Vessel discharge operations
- Support assigned vessel discharge activities according to the approved discharge plan and supervisor instruction.
- Coordinate with port authorities, dock workers, equipment operators and internal logistics staff for safe handling of cargo.
- Assist with unloading cargo from the vessel, placing cargo on the quay and preparing cargo for delivery or warehouse storage.
- Record basic discharge information, delays, cargo condition issues and handover notes as instructed.
- Escalate unsafe conditions, cargo damage, delays or deviations from plan to the Logistic Supervisor.
Warehousing operations
- Support loading, unloading, storage and issuance activities according to SOP and supervisor instruction.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, cargo segregation and safe working conditions.
- Assist with stock counts and check basic warehouse records against physical cargo.
- Report stock discrepancies, space issues or housekeeping risks to the Logistic Supervisor.
Ensuring compliance
- Follow company safety rules, legal weight requirements, permits and operating procedures at all times.
- Use required personal protective equipment and keep assigned work areas safe and orderly.
- Identify and report unsafe actions, unsafe conditions, near misses or incidents promptly.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and required incident reporting.
*** Note: Scope of work will be revised depending on the business needs, other related duties as and when assigned by your reporting superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or equivalent.
- Desirable: Degree in the related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, port, warehouse, weighbridge or a similar operational environment.
- Basic working knowledge of Logistics Management System (LMS), weighbridge records, warehouse records and vessel documentation.
- Basic knowledge of port, warehouse and site equipment, with willingness to learn equipment operation where required.
- Able to follow SOPs, safety requirements and documentation controls accurately under routine supervision.
- Ability to routinely perform physical job duties, with or without a reasonable accommodation including but not limited to bending, weightlifting, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and/or twisting safely.
- Ability to acquire knowledge and adapt to all safety and procedural guidelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
