JOB DESCRIPTION
Weighbridge operations
- Manage assigned inbound and outbound weighbridge transactions in line with company SOPs, legal weight requirements and operational standards.
- Check physical cargo, truck information, delivery documents and system records before releasing or escalating transactions.
- Maintain accurate weighbridge records, cargo movement data, vessel logs, shift logs and other required documentation.
- Identify abnormal readings, documentation issues, system errors or equipment problems, and escalate with recommended corrective action.
- Monitor truck flow and queue discipline to reduce congestion and support smooth cargo delivery.
- Prepare basic operational reports and highlight key exceptions, risks and improvement opportunities.
Vessel discharge operations
- Support the assigned vessel discharge shift in line with the approved discharge plan and supervisor instruction.
- Coordinate task-by-task with port authorities, dock workers, equipment operators and internal logistics staff.
- Record discharge progress, grab counts, stoppage reasons and shift handover information accurately.
- Check shift figures against the hatch plan and supporting documents before handover.
- Report deviations, unsafe conditions, delays or cargo damage with clear facts and recommended next action.
Warehousing operations
- Support loading, unloading, storage and issuance activities according to SOP and supervisor instruction.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping, cargo segregation and safe working conditions.
- Conduct stock counts, check records against physical cargo and report discrepancies with supporting information.
- Raise practical ideas to improve warehouse productivity, safety and service quality.
Ensuring compliance
- Follow and apply company safety rules, legal requirements, permits and operating procedures at all times.
- Monitor assigned work areas for unsafe actions or conditions, including contractor and equipment activities.
- Stop unsafe work when required and escalate safety risks with recommended corrective action.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and incident reporting as required.
*** Note: Scope of work will be revised depending on the business needs, other related duties as and when assigned by your reporting superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or equivalent.
- Desirable: Degree in the related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, port, warehouse, weighbridge or a similar operational environment.
- Working knowledge of Logistics Management System (LMS), weighbridge records, warehouse records and vessel documentation.
- Basic working knowledge of port, warehouse and site equipment, with ability to identify abnormal conditions and escalate appropriately.
- Able to follow SOPs, safety requirements and documentation controls accurately.
- Ability to routinely perform physical job duties, with or without a reasonable accommodation including but not limited to bending, weightlifting, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and/or twisting safely.
- Ability to acquire knowledge and be adapted to all safety and procedural guidelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
