- Responsibilities
Review and take ownership of existing source code, applications, databases, integrations, and cloud resources.
Understand systems created by another developer, including systems with incomplete documentation.
Identify missing code, dependencies, configurations, defects, and security risks.
Stabilize and complete two priority internal technology systems.
Develop and maintain Python applications, REST APIs, SQL databases, and Azure services.
Build and support AI-powered document-processing and workflow-automation solutions.
Maintain Microsoft solutions using SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related tools.
Integrate AI/OCR services that convert unstructured information into structured data.
Implement validation, human review, error handling, audit history, monitoring, and quality controls.
Manage service accounts, app registrations, API keys, connections, permissions, and resource ownership.
Store all source code in company-controlled Git repositories.
Create clear architecture, deployment, testing, rollback, operating, and troubleshooting documentation.
Train the company’s internal technical coordinator to operate and support the systems.
Provide written weekly progress, completed work, risks, blockers, and next steps.
Ask questions and flag uncertainty rather than guessing.
- Required Qualifications
At least four years of professional software or solutions-engineering experience.
Strong Python development experience.
Strong experience with REST APIs, SQL, Git, and backend development.
Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure Functions or App Service.
Experience integrating AI, OCR, document-processing, or LLM services.
Experience deploying, debugging, monitoring, and maintaining production applications.
Ability to take over and stabilize systems written by another developer.
Strong testing and technical-documentation skills.
Security-first approach to confidential financial and personal information.
Professional written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently during a full graveyard schedule.
- Preferred Qualifications
Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Dataverse, or Copilot Studio
Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and role-based access
PDF generation, form filling, or document-manipulation experience
CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, backup, and rollback experience
Financial services or other regulated-data experience
Multilingual application development
Three-Month Project Expectations
The contractor will be expected to:
Inventory the assigned systems, code, accounts, dependencies, and known defects.
Confirm company ownership and control of all repositories, resources, service accounts, and deployment processes.
Independently run, test, and deploy the existing applications.
Stabilize and complete the agreed priority functionality.
Establish reproducible development, testing, and production environments.
Implement appropriate security, monitoring, backup, and recovery controls.
Deliver complete written documentation.
Train the internal technical coordinator.
Complete an agreed controlled production release and handoff.
- Compensation
Base contractor fee: USD $3,500 per month
Three-month completion bonus: Up to USD $3,500, based on agreed project acceptance criteria
Maximum three-month compensation: USD $14,000
The completion bonus is earned only after agreed project requirements, testing, documentation, access transfer, and technical handoff are accepted.
No additional hours or expenses may be billed without written approval.
Security and Ownership Expectations
All code, data, credentials, and resources must remain in company-controlled environments.
Production data may not be stored in personal accounts, devices, repositories, or unapproved services.
External tools, subcontractors, AI providers, or material platform costs require written approval.
All work product created during the engagement will be owned by the company under the contractor agreement.
Documentation and handoff are required parts of the work.
Systems must be reproducible and maintainable by another qualified engineer.
