The Job
As Business Development Manager, you are responsible for growing our business and market share at a global level through the formulation of excellent sales and marketing strategies for our various business units (consumer products, IP, tech) and working with our partners to ensure that these plans are well executed.
Responsibilities
● Responsible for new business development by building rapport with potential business partners to secure/achieve sales targets and serving as the primary business contact
● Take lead on screening potential business deals and managing due diligence by analysing market strategies, deal requirements and financials
● Responsible for business reporting and collating market information regularly
● Evaluate the market potential and risks of the deal by looking up historical sales data, conducting market analysis, making comparisons with other similar products
● Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts;
and integrating contract requirements with business operations
● Communicate and negotiate with partners regarding product updates, marketing support, samples and purchase orders
● Work closely with business partners on planning, approvals and execution of sales & marketing plans and other innovative and successful marketing initiatives
● Prepare and deliver presentations with P&L forecasts and recommendations on potential content acquisition opportunities, strategic partnerships, licensing of talent to management
● Proactively identify and secure collaborative partnerships that will expand the reach of Mighty Jaxx and its sub-brands
● Collaborate effectively with external and internal stakeowners to create and execute innovative sales & marketing programs to achieve business goals
● Deliver high quality release plans and that meets business objectives while efficiently managing budgets and ROI
● Manage major activities or projects related to the pursuit of new business opportunities of phygital products for the company to increase product sales and market share
● Work closely with internal team members to increase revenue opportunities for the business unit
Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
● 3 - 5 years experience in a Business Development or Sales & Marketing role, ideally from consumer products, IP, entertainment or tech-related industries
● Multi-tasker with good time management skills
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage senior management at a business and technical level
● Good networker with a track record of developing new and successful business relationships
● Effective planner with aptitude to identify business needs, challenges and opportunities
● Resilient and agile, quick to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Strong understanding and appreciation for e-commerce, art and subcultures
● Team player with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
● Autonomous and proactive attitude in problem-solving
● Highly motivated, self-starter with a passion for business development and sales.
