Position Overview
The Commissioning Engineer supports the commissioning process by planning, coordinating, documenting, and executing commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves reviewing design documents, witnessing testing activities, developing commissioning procedures, coordinating with project stakeholders, and verifying that building systems operate in accordance with the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD).
Candidates with a strong background in either Mechanical Systems or Electrical Systems are encouraged to apply. Systems include but are not limited to:
• Mechanical Systems (HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation fans, heat exchangers, chilled water systems, condenser water systems, ductwork, pipework, air distribution systems, air balancing, hydronic balancing, building controls; plumbing and sanitary systems; fire protection systems, etc.)
• Electrical Systems (MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, STS, PDUs, busducts, power distribution systems, lighting systems, emergency lighting, earthing & bonding, lightning protection systems, power quality monitoring, control systems, etc.)
Job Responsibilities
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support review of design documents, shop drawings, technical submittals, commissioning procedures, O&M manuals, from a commissioning perspective.
• Conduct site inspections to verify system installation readiness and compliance with project requirements.
• Witness and verify start-up equipment, pre-functional inspections, functional performance testing (FPT), and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Monitor and track commissioning issues, and maintain commissioning documentation, issue logs, test records, and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and facility operators to facilitate commissioning activities.
• Assist in the development of commissioning plans, test scripts, checklists, test procedures, and commissioning reports.
• Verify system operation, control sequences, and performance against the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), and project specifications.
• Support factory witness testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and major equipment commissioning activities when required.
• Participate in project meetings and provide commissioning-related technical input to support project delivery.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with project safety requirements.
• Support training sessions, handover activities, and review of operation and maintenance documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the project team and contribute to continuous improvement of commissioning processes and procedures.
• Support project administration, document control, and commissioning record management.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
Experience & Knowledge
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Commissioning, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), MEP Construction, Building Services, or Facility Operations.
• Good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Building Automation Systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of PC applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of commissioning processes for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems.
• Experience in preparing test procedures, checklists, and commissioning reports is preferred.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, CIBSE, BSRIA, IEC, TCVN, and QCVN standards is an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Vietnam.
