Job description for Topside Static Package Engineer (12 months/Tuas) at QuEST Global Services Pte Ltd
Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to support FEED, procurement engineering, development of detailed mechanical design and installation for FPSO topside modules in the construction and commissioning of the EPCC projects
Responsibilities:
- Perform functions of Mechanical Lead Engineer, establish mechanical deliverables, prepare related FEED & procurement engineering documents, conduct technical bid evaluation and review VCDs independently for Topside Static Equipment in meeting customer’s expectations.
- Review and check project requirement specification, detailing plans and other engineering datasheets prepared by team members using engineering common network, software and tools
- Lead discussion with team and other engineering team members (i.e.yard engineering, basic design and etc.), including subcontractors and consultants on technical issues and design solutions in meeting project deliverables
- Lead team in project meeting, attends to technical queries and issues related to mechanical design and reviews the deliverables (i.e. Equipment Specification, Mechanical Datasheet, Technical Requisition, system specification, function description, etc.)
- Liaise with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
- Generate reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval
- Independently prepare deliverables with reference to Contract Specification, Process Data, P&ID etc. to deliver safe, secure and fully functional facilities based on the customer’s safety and reliability standards
- Monitors the progress of subcontractors and vendors in offering guidance to deliver documents which required as an input in meeting project deliverables
- Independently prepares detailed mechanical design, equipment selection, arrangement and positioning based on GA Plan, P&ID diagram, and schematic diagrams for the procurement purposes
- Leads the generation of detailed calculations, analysis and solutions for mechanical design to deliver safe, secure and fully functional facilities based on the customer’s safety and reliability standards
- Monitors technical correctness, quality and progress of all aspects of mechanical engineering deliverables to support new-built’s machineries fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning in the operating systems and sub-systems
- Works with other engineering team members as required to achieve functional objectives and deadlines
- Provides support in various engineering projects as required to promote cross-functional learning and development, balance team work Incorporates HSEQ work cultures and best practices to ensure the successful implementation of HSEQ management systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Marine Engineering or related engineering disciplines
- 8 years of working experience in planning, designing and construction of mechanical design in the oil and gas industry
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat
- Possess knowledge for Classification Requirements, API 610, 614, 616, 617, 618, 619, 670, 671, 674, 675, 676, 682, 685, ASME PTC, ISO 5199 etc which related to static equipment design standard
- Possess understanding of the static equipment working principles, control logic, operation and maintenance requirements.
- · Familiar with different brand /model of static equipment
- Able to develop/deliver Mechanical Datasheet, static equipment specification, Technical Requisition, selection study report etc for procurement activities purpose
- Able to review deliverables (e.g. P&ID, process datasheet, load analysis, instrument 7 control specification etc) from other disciplines (i.e. process, electrical, instrument & control, structure etc)
- Possess skills of performing technical bid evaluation and preparing technical bid evaluation report for vendor selection. Able to review and conclude the deviations raised by bidders during technical bid evaluation
- Possess skills of reviewing vendor delivered documents in detailed engineering phase.
