Job description for Technical Lead / Engineering Manager at PCA Company Services
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development team on a daily basis, ensuring priorities are understood, progress is visible, and blockers are addressed early.
- Turn business requirements into technically sound implementation plans with the team, including scope, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria.
- Guide system architecture and important technical decisions, with attention to maintainability, security, scalability, and the connections between Project Beacon modules.
- Review code and technical approaches when needed, investigate difficult issues, and contribute directly to development when useful without being expected to code full-time.
- Help the team solve technical problems rather than only tracking tasks, and challenge requirements or proposed solutions when they do not make technical sense.
- Mentor early-career developers through code reviews, architecture discussions, debugging, testing, documentation, and structured problem solving.
- Improve practical engineering processes for code quality, testing, Git workflows, deployment, release management, documentation, and technical debt.
- Keep the CEO informed about delivery status, technical risks, important decisions, and issues that need business prioritization.
- Define and improve AI-assisted development workflows across coding, testing, review, and documentation to help the team deliver higher-quality software within the same or shorter development cycles.
What We Are Looking For
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Technical Lead / Engineering Manager or similar roles. Candidates with 5–10+ years of experience are .
- Strong professional software development experience, ideally with previous technical leadership, mentoring, or team coordination responsibilities. We value demonstrated capability more than a rigid number of years.
- Strong TypeScript / JavaScript and modern web-development knowledge, with the ability to read and review production code and guide technical decisions.
- Good understanding of frontend, backend, relational databases and SQL, APIs, authentication and authorization, infrastructure, deployment, and system integration.
- Strong system-thinking and problem-solving skills: able to understand how decisions in one part of a platform affect other modules, shared data, permissions, and future development.
- Comfortable leading and developing a young engineering team without micromanaging it.
- Fluent Vietnamese is mandatory, with good professional English for communication with management, documentation, and international stakeholders.
Current Technical Environment
- Project Beacon currently uses TypeScript, Next.js / React, PostgreSQL with MikroORM, Redis, Docker, Yarn / Turbo, multi-tenant access control, automated testing, and AI integration capabilities. Experience with the exact stack is useful but not required; the ability to understand and lead a modern web application is more important.
Strong Advantages
- Experience with SaaS or ERP systems, multi-tenant applications, Docker / CI/CD / self-hosted infrastructure, or AI-enabled applications using LLM APIs, tool calling, RAG, structured outputs, or agent workflows.
