1. Job Overview
We are looking for a Technical Document Engineer to create, maintain, and improve technical documentation for Gremsy’s gimbal stabilizers and related products. This role involves working closely with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to ensure that our documentation is accurate, clear, and user-friendly.
2. Key Responsibilities
● Develop and Maintain Technical Documents:
o Create user manuals, installation guides, SDK/API documentation, and troubleshooting guides for Gremsy products.
o Write clear, concise, and technically accurate documentation for hardware, firmware, and software aspects of the product.
o Ensure documentation is consistent with company branding and user experience guidelines.
● Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
o Work closely with hardware and software engineers to extract technical details and
translate them into comprehensive documentation.
o Coordinate with the support team to document FAQs and common troubleshooting
steps.
o Partner with the marketing team to ensure technical accuracy in product descriptions
and promotional materials.
● Manage Documentation Process:
o Maintain version control and track updates for documentation to align with product
releases.
o Continuously review and improve documentation based on user feedback.
o Ensure documentation complies with industry standards and best practices.
● Assist in Training and Support:
o Create training materials and knowledge base articles for internal and external stakeholders.
o Conduct internal training sessions on product features and updates.
3. Requirements
Must-Have
● Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
● 1+ years of experience in technical writing, engineering documentation, or a similar role.
● Strong understanding of drone technology, gimbals, and stabilization systems or robotics
field.
● Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics, technical drawings, and API
documentation.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
● Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, LaTeX, Confluence, Adobe
FrameMaker, or similar).
● Basic knowledge of software development, API documentation, and firmware update
processes.
● Attention to detail and a structured approach to organizing technical information.
Nice-to-Have
● Experience with UAVs, camera integration, or embedded systems.
● Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) or software development environments.
● Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and document version control tools (Git, Doxygen).
● Experience creating instructional videos or interactive documentation.
