Job description for Teaching Assistant part-time (Data Science & Analytics) at CoderSchool
- Position Type: Part-time (Remote/ Hybrid at CS office)
- Location: Podium Floor, Topaz 2 Tower, Saigon Pearl, 92 Nguyen Huu Canh, Ward 22, Binh Thanh District, HCMC.
- Working Time: Flexible shift-based schedule, referring evening sessions on weekdays and weekends (aligned with learner schedules)
1. About CoderSchool & Overview
CoderSchool is a technology education platform that empowers individuals to build meaningful careers in tech. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant for Data Science & Data Analytics courses to guide learners through technical hurdles, keep them engaged, and ensure a seamless, high-quality learning experience from onboarding to final project completion.
2. Responsibilities
- Supporting new learner Orientation sessions. Guide learners through the initial steps of joining the CoderSchool learning platform, ensuring they understand how to access and begin the course smoothly.
- Answer technical queries in the Question Center within a 15-minute SLA for Data Science, Data Analytics course (expandable across courses like Full-stack web, Unity Game, CS50 course series based on expertise).
- Conduct 1-on-1 TA sessions with learners and help them with exercise and understand concepts.
- Guiding the learners on their final projects (including: weekly check-in and progress monitoring, schedule presentation meeting for learner and mentor, ensure mentor’s feedback delivered on time, upload those feedback to LearnWorld and inform learner on Discord on the final result).
- Grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations on LearnWorlds accurately and timely.
- Participate in other academic activities such as teaching instructional sessions or developing learning materials as requested by the Academic Department, aligned with personal expertise and capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Learner Success team and other departments to organize engaging activities and community events, ensuring learners receive the best possible learning experience.
3. Qualifications
- Technical Foundations: Strong logical thinking and a solid grasp of foundational Computer Science concepts. Proficiency or familiarity with popular programming languages and tech stacks across CoderSchool courses such as:
- Data Expertise:
- Proficient in Python (including libraries like Pandas, Seaborn, Matplotlib) and other languages is a plus (Javascript, C#/C++, etc)
- Basic SQL/BigQuery().
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau or PowerBI)
- Foundation understanding of Machine Learning models (Linear/Logistic Regression, KNN, KMeans, Decision Tree).
- Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience; prior experience in teaching is a significant plus.
- Skill: Good communication and interpersonal skills to explain technical concepts simply. High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skill
- Mindset: Proactive, learner-first empathy aligning with our Learner Success team and a willingness to learn new tech skills quickly.
- Language: Professional English proficiency (reading and technical communication).

- Fixed Compensation: 2,500,000 VND / month for a commitment of 10 hours/week (40 hours/month).
