Job description for System Administrator - Application Support (Night Shift) at International Data Service Malang

Position: System Administrator

We are looking for a proactive and analytical support engineer to handle incident reports and provide night-time support for our Germany-based clients. This role focuses on troubleshooting, incident validation, and clear communication in a structured support environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor systems and respond to incoming incidents during night shift
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues based on incomplete or unclear user information and reports
  • Validate incident data (e.g., mix up of sender with consignee, missing or wrong timestamps) to identify user errors vs system issues
  • Communicate with users to clarify problem descriptions and gather accurate information
  • Ensure all incidents are properly documented for handover and further investigation
  • Support continuous improvement of support processes based on recurring issues
  • Readiness to learn the functionality of a TMS (Transport Management System)

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic system check (Windows service/Linux, logs, system status)
  • Use monitoring tools to track system health and alerts
  • Assist in identifying whether issues originate from system, data input, or user operation
  • Query and analyze data using SQL Server to support incident investigation and validation

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in SQL Server (mandatory) able to write and understand queries for troubleshooting and data validation
  • Basic understanding of Windows/Linux system administration
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good written English communication skills

Work Environment:

  • Fully remote (Indonesian-based) under international working environment
  • Supporting Europe-based clients, mainly German companies
  • Night shift aligned with European time zone
  • High focus on written communication and structured reporting
