Did you wish that you learned about money management when you were younger? Right now, financial literacy is not a mandatory topic taught in schools, and many parents are unsure how to talk about money with their teenagers.
Rocket Pocket is building the flagship fintech app for teenagers in Indonesia. From payments to budgeting, earning pocket money to savings - we are bringing practical experiences of money management to teenagers in order to raise a financially literate generation starting today, for tomorrow.
We are backed by Y Combinator, the #1 accelerator from Silicon Valley that also backed Airbnb, Dropbox, Ajaib and Xendit.
We are looking for an extraordinary Software Engineer who is passionate about designing and delivering incredible user experiences that will revolutionize the way teenagers handle their finances.
You will have the opportunity to work closely alongside the founders, who have backgrounds in Facebook, Google, and BCG.
How you will make an impact:
- Use cutting edge technologies and frameworks to deliver high-quality products
- Design and implement scalable systems to power customer experiences for a large user base
- Collaborate with UX designers to deliver delightful user experiences
- Design and implement testing strategies to ensure a high degree of reliability
What you need to have:
- Strong algorithms, data structure, and coding background.
- Extensive experience with software engineering best practices (eg. unit testing, code review, design documentation)
- Familiarity with Javascript and Typescript, or be fluent in another programming language and have a willingness to learn on the go
- Strong Product sense
- High level of attention to detail
What will make you stand out:
- Proficiency with React Native, GraphQL, and NodeJS
- Experience working in startups (fintech is a plus!)
About the company
Financial literacy, or lack thereof, is a problem. Parents want their kids to be financially literate, but many of us are not sure how to teach them. At Rocket Pocket, we think it's important for kids to "learn by doing" and through real-life experiences. From budgeting to banking, the upcoming generation must prepare for the future with the proper financial knowledge. Rocket Pocket provides the tools families need for their kids to go through a "money metamorphosis," a journey to becoming a more financially responsible adult.
