Job description for Senior Technical SEO Specialist at MadeIndonesia
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Technical SEO Specialist with strong hands-on experience in technical SEO and website migration.
You’ll be responsible for checking and improving the technical health of websites, identifying SEO issues, and working closely with developers to plan and implement the right solutions.
A major part of this role will be website migration, including handling indexing issues, redirects, and potential traffic or ranking drops after moving a website from one platform to another.
Experience with the Dutch/NL market is a big plus.
What You’ll Do
- Review websites for technical SEO issues, including HTML structure, meta tags, and other on-page technical elements
- Identify and explain SEO issues found through technical audits and SEO tools
- Check and manage HTTP status codes, including 3xx and 4xx, and determine the appropriate action for each case
- Use and understand SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Seobility, Yoast, and Rank Math
- Analyze reports from SEO tools, understand the underlying issues, and identify the appropriate next steps
- Prepare clear technical recommendations and action plans for the development team
- Work closely with developers to implement SEO changes and understand the technical impact and possible consequences
- Plan and support website migrations, including URL changes, redirects, indexing, and post-migration checks
- Investigate indexing problems and SEO performance drops after a migration and recommend solutions
- Monitor organic traffic and search performance before and after major technical changes
- Distinguish between SEO scores generated by tools and actual website performance based on organic traffic and search visibility
What You Bring
- Proven professional experience in Technical SEO, minimum 3-5 years experience
- Hands-on experience with website or CMS migrations
- Good understanding of HTML and meta tag fundamentals
- Good knowledge of HTTP status codes, especially 3xx and 4xx, and how they should be handled from an SEO perspective
- Familiarity with Google Search Console, Seobility, Yoast, and Rank Math
- Ability to explain the main functions and features of the SEO tools you use
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain technical SEO reports in detail, including crawl budget optimization and canonicalization.
- Ability to turn technical SEO findings into clear action points for developers
- Experience working with developers and willingness to collaborate closely throughout implementation
- Good understanding of the potential SEO consequences of technical changes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good spoken and written English
- Willing to work onsite in our office (Sleman, Yogyakarta).
Migration Experience
Website migration experience is one of the most important requirements for this role.
You should have experience moving a website from one platform or CMS to another and dealing with issues that may occur during or after the migration, such as:
- Pages not being indexed
- Incorrect or missing redirects
- Changes in URL structure
- Ranking or organic traffic drops
- Canonical and sitemap issues
- Other technical SEO problems affecting search visibility
You should be able to explain what happened, how you investigated the problem, and what actions you took to recover and protect SEO performance.
