ABOUT THE JOB
We’re looking for an experienced BackEnd Developer to be responsible for designing system architecture, setting codebase standards, and optimizing performance for real-time features. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Functional:
- Design, implement, and maintain groups responsible for APIs, real-time logic processing, and player interaction systems.
- Actively participate in and lead the development of backend systems using Java, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
- Establish codebase standards: folder structure, naming conventions, and processing flows.
- Collaborate closely with game designers and client developers to ensure smooth integration of backend systems with the game client.
- Design Microservices architecture for scalability and maintainability across game lines or features.
- Build and implement Unit Tests, validate business logic, and standardize event flows (results, player states, system interactions).
- Optimize performance for critical operations such as matchmaking, win-rate systems, jackpot, and reward logic.
- Ensure game backend security: anti-cheat, session validation, and prevention of fake requests/spam.
- Implement CI/CD, auto-scaling, logging, and monitoring systems for the game backend.
2. Organizational strategy:
- Abide by and uphold all Company core values, policies and procedures. Help make sure that the Organization’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization.
- Design, support and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the Organization.
- Analyze requirements from the Game Design Document (GDD) and propose suitable architecture.
- Actively handle production incidents, trace logs, identify root causes, and deploy quick solutions.
- Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Employee by the Company which may be adjusted from time to time.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related major.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in backend system development with at least 3 backend languages (Java/Kotlin, Rust, Go, PHP, C#/.Net, etc.), especially with Java/Kotlin, Rust, PHP.
- Proficient in Kafka, RabbitMQ.
- Experience in building real-time systems with Socket.io, WebSocket, Redis pub/sub, event-driven architecture.
- Experience with databases (Postgres, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB,...) for game state management.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Lavarel is a plus.
- Familiarity with Cocos Creator networking integration and multiplayer game flow.
- Experience with large-scale real-time game systems is an advantage.
- Good English communication skills (TOEIC 500+ or equivalent).
- Familiar with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
- Proficient in project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Great communication and team-building abilities.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changes quickly.
