Position Overview
A Japanese-affiliated interior and office design firm is hiring a Project Designer. You will propose
office layouts and designs to clients, and after a project is won, handle on-site confirmation,
detailed design, 3D imaging and on-site direction. There is a clear path to grow into a design
team manager over time.
Main Responsibilities
● Plan office layouts and designs, and present proposals to clients.
● After winning a project, confirm on-site conditions, produce detailed design and 3D
images, and direct the team and site.
● Manage the design from proposal through delivery, coordinating with clients and internal
members.
Requirements (Must)
● Experience across the full design workflow (proposal, detailed design, 3D, on-site). Any
industry is fine, including retail/shop or residential/housing design.
● Experience working at a Japanese-affiliated company.
● English (used in daily work).
● Proficiency in CAD, Photoshop, SketchUp or 3ds Max (3DMAX), and PowerPoint.
Preferred (Want)
● Japanese language ability.
● Understanding of, or a long-term willingness to learn, the Japanese way of working.
● Staff management experience (candidates with management ability may be hired at
Assistant Leader rank).
