Job description for Process Engineer at CÔNG TY TNHH QUESS CORP VIỆT NAM

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and upgrade current process control systems to enable us to deliver consistent quality products defined at a specific level of CPK and PPK, with initial focus on strategic customers and products followed by all other customers and products. This includes building the strong process control discipline, ensuring machines stability and reliability, standardization of workflow, system traceability and early detection of defective trends
  • Working closely with Operational Excellence functions to drive process targets and process improvements utilizing Six Sigma tools and SPC Methodology. Measure actual performance through defined metrics. Drive production efficiencies (throughput, scrap, up-time) against budgeted standards, report results.
  • Work with R&D group on the product development cycle from idea through commercialization, direct responsibility for trials in plant, field trials with customers and technical support for the product launch
  • Work closely with QHSE, Sales, Supply Chain and R&D functions to resolve issues related to materials and product quality, process efficiency, customer complaints, safety topics etc. with company suppliers, internal and external customers
  • Work on other project tasks assigned by superior including new technology introduction (eg. compounding operations evaluation), work with Sales & Marketing Department to study competition products, validation of new machines and new processes, work with suppliers to translate relevant advances in innovations of material / machine technology and incorporate into our films etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging film production machinery and technical operations.
  • At least 3 years of Process Engineer experience in extrusion film production, using functional software and process tools.
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience with film packaging suppliers, with exposure to Lean manufacturing.
  • Solid knowledge of the consumer plastic packaging film industry; familiar with garbage film parameters and applications.
  • Experience in New Product Development (NPD) for packaging films, from concept to mass production.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in English
  • Hard-working, open-minded, diligent, strong team spirit.

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Process mapping, SOP development, capacity planning, Lean/Kaizen and TPM methodologies.

Extrusion & Film Technology

  • Strong knowledge of extrusion technology and packaging film products; garbage bag conversion is an advantage.

New Product Development (NPD)

  • Lead or support new product / new material development, including trial planning, process validation, scale-up from pilot to production, and technical transfer to manufacturing.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Process quality control, specifications management, risk assessment, and Occupational Health & Safety compliance.

Data Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Effective in data collection, analysis, KPI tracking, and data-driven root cause analysis..

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Knowledge of Autonomous Maintenance and basic maintenance practices to ensure stable and reliable processes.

Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and packaging film suppliers.

Digital & Technical Awareness

  • Basic understanding of production-related digital tools, systems, and responsible technology use.
