Job description for PLANNING LEAD at Quesscorp
The company designs and manufactures high performance electric motorbikes for customers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Its operations include an electric motorbike factory in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Role
The Planning Lead will take ownership of production and material planning, connecting demand plans and sales orders with production capacity, material availability, inventory status, and purchasing lead times.
This is a hands-on functional leadership role. The position manages two planners while directly reviewing data, validating plans, analyzing risks, and adjusting planning scenarios. The Planning Lead will receive demand plans from Sales, evaluate supply feasibility, confirm available quantities, and translate requirements into production plans, material plans, and the master production schedule.

Team Size: Two direct reports: one Production Planner and one Material Planner
Key Responsibilities
Production and Supply Planning
● Receive demand plans, orders, and requirements from Sales and assess supply feasibility.
● Evaluate production capacity, manpower, material availability, current inventory, purchasing lead times, and planning risks.
● Confirm feasible quantities and timelines with Sales.
● Develop and control short-, medium-, and long-term production plans.
● Prepare and maintain the master production schedule.
● Monitor production progress and adjust plans when demand, capacity, or supply conditions change.
● Coordinate with Production, QA, Warehouse, and other relevant teams to ensure feasible and timely execution.
Material and Inventory Coordination
● Develop material plans for raw materials, components, and semi-finished goods based on production requirements.
● Ensure materials are available in the required quantities and at the required time to prevent production disruption.
● Review inventory status to validate the feasibility of production and material plans.
● Work with Purchasing/Sourcing to monitor lead times and resolve material shortages.
● Monitor material inventory, shelf life, and obsolescence risks.
Team and Cross-functional Leadership
● Manage and guide one Production Planner and one Material Planner.
● Review and validate data and plans prepared by team members before implementation.
● Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve issues affecting production and supply.
● Act as the planning focal point for new products, projects, ad hoc requirements, and strategic changes.
● Analyze data, assess risks, and recommend appropriate planning scenarios.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
● Prepare periodic reports on planning status, production, inventory, material availability, and key risks.
● Develop and standardize planning processes, templates, and reports.
● Recommend improvements to planning processes, systems, and tools.
● Propose adjustments to production plans and inventory policies when risks arise.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
● At least 5 years of experience in production planning, material planning, purchasing, supply chain, or a related position within a manufacturing environment.
● Practical understanding of production planning, material planning, inventory status, purchasing lead times, and master production scheduling.
● Experience with an ERP or MRP system such as SAP, Odoo, or an equivalent platform.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, validate, and
interpret detailed operational data.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities in an environment where plans change frequently.
● Working proficiency in English, including the ability to present plans, explain issues, and discuss solutions with foreign stakeholders in regular meetings.
