Job description for Junior Automation Engineer (Playwright, JavaScript, QA/QC) at Ekino Vietnam
The position is responsible for designing, developing, and executing quality assurance and control processes, test strategies, test plans and test cases that verify a software conformance to define acceptance criteria (i.e. system behaviors).
Key responsibilities
- Write, execute, and maintain automation test scripts through each release.
- Maintain and update test automation framework when library is upgraded.
- Analyze automation test reports, and deliver to stakeholders in a timely basis.
- Report bugs when executing automation scripts.
- Communicate testing status, issues, risks to managers and stakeholders.
- Prepare test environment, test data, jobs scheduled configuration if required.
- Work closely with clients to clarify their testing needs, project scope as assigned.
- Assist in the quality management continuous improvement process as assigned.
Key requirements
1/ Technical skills
- Foundation of software testing and software development process.
- Foundational understanding of OOP, algorithms and programming languages (Java, JavaScript, TypeScript) for developing/ maintaining test scripts.
- Skills in elements inspector (Xpath, CSS selector, v.v).
- Skills in revision control systems (GitHub, SVN).
- Ability to synthesize test results effectively.
2/ Soft skills
- Good communication in English.
- Customer-focused, initiative spirit.
- Open-minded and flexible in project’s process tailoring.
- Good collaboration and presentation skill.
- High teamwork spirit, ability to think logically and creatively.
- Ability to self-study and research, willing to learn attitude.
3/ Nice-to-have skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of automation test tool/ framework for web/ mobile testing (Selenium WebDriver, Katalon, Playwright, Appium).
- Design patterns: Page Object Model.
- TestNG (or JUnit), Maven.
- Web Services integration (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON).
- BDD (Behavior-driven development) format and Cucumber.
- CI/CD and tracking multiple test executions simultaneously.
- AI foundation is a big plus.
