Job description for Full Stack Developer at SEMA Rewards
SEMA Rewards is a creator-rewards marketplace live in production in Indonesia: brands fund campaigns, clippers post short-form videos, views are tracked automatically, and creators get paid real money.
What you'll do
1. Own features end-to-end on a modern TypeScript stack: a lightweight, high-performance backend over PostgreSQL, and a React-based frontend deployed to a major cloud platform through a CI-gated pipeline.
2. Build and ship our mobile apps for iOS and Android with React Native, sharing code with the web frontend, including app-store submission and release management on both stores, push notifications, and over-the-air updates.
3. Work on the financial core: user wallets, earnings ledgers, payout approvals, and payment-gateway integrations (payments in, disbursements out, webhook handling).
4. Build and harden integrations with third-party data providers that fail often, retries, timeouts, and replay-safe processing are daily concerns here, not edge cases.
5. Implement UI from provided designs against an established component system.
6. Share production responsibility: deploys, monitoring, and incident response.
7. Maintain a substantial automated test suite that gates every deploy.
What we require
Financial correctness instincts. You think in transactions, row locks, idempotency, and invariants without being asked. You know why a payment webhook must be replay-safe and why a balance check belongs inside the transaction that spends it.
Real PostgreSQL depth. Connection pooling and its failure modes, lock diagnosis, safe migrations on a live database. "Knows SQL" is not this.
Production React Native experience. You've shipped at least one app to both the App Store and Google Play and lived through the review process, not just built demos. Expo experience preferred.
Production operations. You've handled a live outage and know that rollback comes before diagnosis.
Defensive integration engineering. External APIs that lie, duplicate, or vanish are your default assumption.
Strong TypeScript across the stack, with clean frontend delivery from specs on web and mobile.
Evidence-based communication. You say "I measured X," not "probably Y." You'll work directly with a non-technical founder; honest estimates and specific risk-flagging matter as much as code.
Bahasa Indonesia & English proficiency preferred.
How we work
Trunk-based with PRs; every change is reviewed, CI-gated, and soaks on staging before production.
AI-assisted development is encouraged, we care about your judgment of the output, not keystrokes.
