Job description for Environmental and Social Project Manager (ES Project manager) at Livit International
- Lead the implementation of the company’s ESMS at the project level to ensure consistency with international standards, along with investor and client requirements such as the Climate, Community and Biodiversity, and IFC Performance Standards.
- In collaboration with the Community Development and Engagement Manager, train, coordinate and manage community development and engagement officers.
- Work with the Community Development and Engagement Manager to design community development activities at the project level
- Contribute to regular monitoring and reporting of ESMS at the project level
- Help to source local hires for Community Development roles at the project level
- Coordinate and lead socio-economic baseline data collection and stakeholder identification with a team of enumerators and high conservation value area identification
- Implement data collection, data analysis, and reporting tools with the FC team to present socio-economic baseline data, stakeholder identification and analysis, and other key environmental and social data
- Contribute to the environmental and social assessment report
- Support the development of and lead the implementation of the stakeholder engagement plan, FPIC, grievance redressal mechanism, community consultations, and disclosure engagements, community benefit sharing plan as well as necessary studies as required
- Manage and support third-party contractors as required
- Work with the project team to develop, implement and refine ESMS processes
- Support the development and implementation of ES management plans (e.g., environmental management plan, emergency preparedness, and response plan
- Support ongoing implementation of ESMS and capacity building of field staff
- Ensure all documentation and reporting contributes to project design and monitoring documents
- Utilize FC’s ESMS reporting and data collection tools for project monitoring and evaluation activities
- Lead continuous training and capacity building of staff at the project site
- CCB or similar standard expertise and actual experience in the application of Environmental and Social (E&S) impact assessment/ auditing of large projects, and a track record of social impact assessment with a minimum of six years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of and experience of applying E&S standards (IFC, CCB, FSC etc.) to projects at the community level
- Experience in Papua and specifically the Merauke region preferred
- Knowledge of best practices for planning for, training staff on, and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Key Informant Interviews (KII), and household (HH) surveys in the Indonesian context
- Experience leading a team to plan and implement ESMS at the project level
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Ability to concisely synthesize and analyze community-based research
- Field staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven track record working with community groups and social forestry
- A Master’s Degree from International Accredited University preferred
