Job description for Ecommerce Technology Developer at Rodd and Gunn

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Ecommerce Technology Developer to join our Ecommerce Team who specialises in Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data 360 to support and enhance our customer engagement, marketing automation, customer data, and ecommerce ecosystem.

This role will primarily focus on the development, optimisation, and integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data 360 solutions across the business. The successful candidate will also provide additional front-end technical support for our ecommerce website built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical developer with strong problem-solving abilities, experience working with Salesforce technologies, and an understanding of ecommerce customer journeys and digital experiences.

Requirements

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Development

• Develop and maintain marketing solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalisation.

• Build and optimise customer journeys, automations, personalisation, emails, CloudPages, and preference centres

• Develop dynamic and personalised customer experiences using AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, and API.

• Support campaign execution, triggered communications, and audience segmentation

• Manage integrations between Marketing Cloud and external platforms via APIs and data feeds

• Monitor and troubleshoot automation, data, and campaign-related issues

• Develop and maintain reports in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

• Ensure solutions follow platform best practices, performance standards, and governance requirements

• Support other Marketing projects as they arise and are requested by the business.

Salesforce Data 360 Development

• Support the implementation and optimisation of Salesforce Data 360 capabilities

• Build and maintain data streams, identity resolution processes, calculated insights, and audience segmentation.

• Assist with customer data modelling, harmonisation, and activation use cases

• Support integration of ecommerce, customer, and behavioural data into unified customer profiles

• Develop SQL-based transformations and analytical datasets

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in Salesforce Data 360

• Work closely with business stakeholders to support customer insight and personalisation initiatives

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Development

• Provide technical front-end support for the ecommerce website

• Implement and maintain website content, templates, and front-end enhancements

• Support responsive and accessible user experiences across devices

• Assist with promotional campaign implementation and landing page development

• Collaborate with ecommerce and design teams to improve customer experience and site functionality

• Support troubleshooting and optimisation of front-end issues

• Support other E-Commerce projects as they arise and are requested by the business.

TO SUCCEED YOU NEED:

• A minimum of 3 years of development experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data 360.

• Strong hands-on experience with AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript, Client-Side JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, REST and SOAP APIs.

• Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalisation, Salesforce Data 360, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud concepts.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced ecommerce environment.

• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Exceptional technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong documentation skills.

• Stay current with Salesforce Platform capabilities and industry best practices.
