Job description for AI Engineering Lead/Technical Lead at Moniva Viet Nam
Job Overview
We are looking for an AI Engineer Lead: a hands-on engineer who spends most of their time building software with AI, and who also guides a group of developers on technical work.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will design and build software every day, using AI across the development lifecycle to deliver faster and at higher quality. Team support: guiding Backend and Frontend developers, coordinating with the Mobile team, working with the Technical Architect, Business Analysts, QC Engineers, and UI/UX Designer, and sharing AI practices with Moniva's existing teams.
The ideal candidate is a strong developer who leads by example through code and turns personal AI expertise into practices that the team adopts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hands-on Development with AI
Design, build, and ship high-quality software (Backend and/or Frontend) as a hands-on contributor on real projects.
Apply AI to the fullest across the software development lifecycle: AI-assisted coding, AI agents, design and planning, testing, debugging, code review, and documentation.
Go deep on AI tools and techniques (prompting, agent workflows, context and tooling setup) and keep up with new tools worth adopting.
Build reusable AI workflows, templates, and guidelines that reduce repetitive work and raise output quality.
Resolve complex technical issues and collaborate with the Technical Architect on technical decisions and engineering standards.
Validate AI-generated outputs and uphold quality standards, with appropriate attention to data security and privacy.
2. Team Leadership & AI Enablement
Guide and mentor Backend and Frontend developers through code reviews and pairing, and coordinate with the Mobile team on technical alignment, and work with the Technical Architect, Business Analysts, QC Engineers, and UI/UX Designer to deliver quality products.
Take ownership of technical quality and delivery for the team's work: help plan tasks, estimate effort, and track progress.
Share AI knowledge and coach Moniva's current teams (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, and others) through hands-on sessions, pair work, and documentation.
Identify opportunities to apply AI in other business functions and run small-scale trials, assessing results by time saved, output quality, or cost.
Report to the Technical Manager on progress, risks, and technical direction.
Other Responsibilities
Recommend practical technology improvements aligned with project and business needs.
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
At least 6 years of software development experience.
Strong hands-on programming skills in at least one relevant technology stack (e.g., Java, Golang, Rust, Node.js, ReactJS, or React Native), with the ability to build features independently and review code across teams.
Hands-on experience applying AI deeply in software development (AI coding assistants, agents, or automation), with concrete results in productivity, code quality, or efficiency.
Ability to evaluate AI-generated code and outputs and maintain appropriate engineering standards.
Experience mentoring developers and taking ownership of technical quality and delivery.
Ability to share knowledge and train others to use AI effectively, including colleagues outside the engineering team.
Good problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred
Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs, RAG, AI agents, or workflow automation.
Track record of introducing AI workflows or running internal AI sharing and training sessions.
Experience working with international teams or software outsourcing projects.
