Job description for Legal Manager - Dispute Management at Ruangguru
- Reporting to the Senior Legal Manager, you will help to develop and execute the best strategy and approach for a wide range of litigation matters (including labor and employment matters in collaboration with our industrial relation specialist) and to avoid and minimize the risk exposure in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations
- Advise stakeholders (including management team) on possible legal risk and manage potential/ongoing contentious matters
- Consult, review, negotiate and/or draft a variety of commercial contracts relating to human resources-related agreements and litigation-related documents
- Manage, budget, and track any assistance given by external counsels (whenever appropriate) and maintain internal litigation reports
- Represent the Company before the court/government agency with regards to criminal and civil litigation and other legal proceedings to protect the Company’s interest
- Together with other legal team members, develop and conduct engaging internal trainings for internal partners on various topics to help reduce risk
- Provide accurate, reasoned and concise advice on short notice without undue reliance on external counsel
- Lead dispute negotiations when appropriate
- Proven solid experience as a litigation lawyer in reputable law firms with 4-5 years of experience
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Indonesia due to the nature of the business and high level of interactivity with senior management and across international teams
- Demonstrate a keen ability to issue-spot sensitive legal and business concerns and an ability to lay out possible strategy and approach to handle the issue
- A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach, aiming to building bridges and balancing needs across a rapidly changing organization and able to empathize through differences of view and values of others
- An accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently and remotely with colleagues
- Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and project management skills
- Having a PERADI license is required, and a masters degree would be advantageous
