Job description for SOURCING ENGINEER/ SPECIALIST (ELECTRICAL) at Modmo
- Plan, source and identify new suppliers/vendors.
- Source for various material and components from overseas as well as local vendors for new project.
- To study and analyze the markets and availability for each items and source from the best possible sources available.
- Drive cost reduction projects along with plan and achieve expected results.
- Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
- Identifies and evaluates alternative materials or suppliers to maintain competitive quality and/or pricing of piece parts.
- Initiate and implement sourcing strategies that achieve long term and sustainable commercial benefits to the company.
- To coordinate production and Warehouse/ Inventory department and follow up material stock and confirm purchase order to suppliers based on the requirements and maintain reorder point of each items ensuring stock of supplies at an optimum level.
- To coordinate R&D and costing department and help analyzing feasibility of any new projects providing required information.
- Build and maintain good relationship with suppliers and manage while evaluating their performance and compliance.
- Assist SCM Manager on daily work-related issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or Supply chain management
- At least 5+ years of experience in procurement, material management, EE product development, sourcing
- Experience in understanding technical drawings. Familiar with aluminum manufacturing processes such as CNC, sheet metal bending, forming, die casting, FDM, etc.
- Demonstrate experience in SolidWorks (or other) and technical drawings (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T knowledge)
- Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence without authority
- Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost
- Communicate Effectively: verbally, non-verbally, written communication, ability to listen, and "read between the lines
- Chinese fluency is a prefer
