Job description for Mechanical Engineer at Schlumberger
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
The role of the Mechanical Engineer is to support the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers in checking and approving drawings/designs of Surface Product to meet customer’s requirement, Cameron Engineering and API Standards.
The Engineer will support the manufacturing and refurbishment of Wellhead equipment(s) via the disposition of NCRs and RGRs. The Engineer will also be appointed as the Lead Engineer for project work, assisting the senior Engineer.
He/She is also responsible in assisting the Engineering Manager and senior Engineer in troubleshooting field installation problems if the need arises, so some overseas travel for hands on work in the field is expected.
Specific deliverables and responsibilities
The Engineer will support the goals and programs established by the management team. Included in the roles and responsibilities of the Engineer are:
· Checking and approving drawings, information and documentation which meets Cameron engineering standards to enable the manufacturing group and other departments to produce and market the Company’s product.
· Attend and initiate Design and Development Planning and Review session to meet customer’s and industry’s need.
· Guide and lead junior designers on Engineering Design Work.
· Carrying out and direct design and development work to meet customers’ and/or the industry’s need.
· Conduct Engineering Training and Lesson Learnt sessions.
· Facilitate and/or conduct Root Cause Analysis session for Service Quality/Product Quality related incidents.
· Provide regional engineering support as instructed by Engineering Manager.
· Working and direct work within stated procedures to ensure that design records/control is maintained.
· To be capable of executing Stackup Test independently.
· To be capable of customer engagement.
· To be capable of performing design calculations and design analysis.
· Be familiar with company products, design principles, manufacturing techniques.
Requirements
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
· Ability to produce drawings/sketches to illustrate design/ideas.
· Fluency in English, both written and verbal English
· Keen to work in a hands-on industrial environment
