Position: Embedded Electronics Engineer
The Robotics team at Performance Rotors works on various inspection technology from camera equipment to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems which are not reliant on satellite navigation (satnavs) (e.g. GPS/GNSS).
Description
We are seeking for a passionate individual who enjoys the thrill of solving tough challenges, with a strong electronics background in designing from scratch for camera and wireless communication modules. You will be tasked with creating many core electronic components that the company will use for our full range of products. You will be collaborating with a small team of Robotics Engineers to build up quality robotics systems which can be readily deployed and implemented for use in the Oil & Gas, Maritime, and Defence industries.
Key Requirements
- Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and work constructively with a team.
- Ensure design solutions meet product specifications and functional requirements (performance, reliability, DFM, cost and serviceability, compliance with international regulatory standards e.g. IEC, UL and EMC).
- Develop electronic prototypes for camera modules, wireless communication modules, and various electronics products.
- Develop and drive module level architecture and specifications from conceptualisation to the implementation phase including component selection, design, supervising layout and simulation, validation and system integration.
- Produce detailed engineering materials including design schematics, PCB layout, Tolerance analysis, design notes, FMEA, Failure analysis report and technical review documents.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive electrical test documentation for manufacturing partners to complete tests and validation work.
- Resolve SI/PI issues arising from system components and work with the team to resolve them.
- Able to go on-sites to test out developmental systems for further review, where necessary.
- Involve in electronics development process improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree (Bachelors/Masters/PhD) in Embedded, Electronics, or Electrical with a focus on camera systems, wireless communication, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in system level design and architecture, preferably in Electronics Hardware Design and Integration as well as Digital High-Speed Hardware Design.
- Hands-on experience in electronics design, including component selection, schematic designs and working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software such as Altium Designer.
- Experience with camera technology covering sensing, control and signal processing, including MIPI, SPI, HDMI, analogue and digital signals.
- Experience with radiofrequency circuits such as base-band, pass-band filters, phase shifters, power amplifiers
- Experience in EMC/ESD troubleshooting is essential
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently deliver high quality results within challenging project timelines.
- Highly motivated and self-driven with good communication skills, and team working experience.
- Possess a strong command of written and spoken English.
Bonus Points
- Extensive experience with EE design for digital circuits, including high-speed video interfaces and low-speed serial control interfaces.
- Familiarity with image quality evaluation methodology and general optical metrology
- Knowledge of at least one programming language for lab data collection and data analysis.
