Own sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationships for your assigned commodity category (e.g. poultry or seafood)

Prepare and review trade documentation before shipment or goods receipt for your category

Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping agents on customs declaration and clearance

Handle trade finance documentation — Bill of Lading tracking, CAD/bank collections, payment coordination

Monitor warehouse/storage costs and coordinate cold store shipments for your category

Review and verify supplier invoices from hauliers, 3PL providers, and cold storage facilities

Liaise with finance, logistics, and sales on purchase requests, budget cycles, and delivery follow-ups

Handle documentation requests (halal/health certificates, licences) tied to your category

Provide daily operational support for purchase requests and issue resolution within your category

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, trading, or supply chain; F&B or frozen food exposure is a plus

Basic understanding of import/export processes and customs procedures  

Comfortable working with ERP/inventory systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) — willingness to learn

Good communication and coordination skills across departments and with external partners

Comfortable owning a category independently while collaborating with the wider procurement team
