About the role
Chemoscience Pte Ltd is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our Laboratory & Technical Services team. This is a full-time position based in the Bukit Batok East West Region. As a Calibration Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our laboratory instruments and equipment. Your work will be essential to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance within our operations, directly supporting the delivery of precise scientific measurements and results that our clients depend on.
What you'll be doing
Performing routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments including balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers, chromatography equipment and other analytical devices
Conducting precision measurements and adjustments to ensure instruments meet required specifications and regulatory standards
Documenting calibration procedures, results and adjustments in compliance with established protocols and quality assurance procedures
Troubleshooting instrument malfunctions and identifying when equipment requires repair or replacement
Maintaining detailed calibration records and schedules to ensure all equipment is serviced on time
Liaising with equipment manufacturers and external service providers when specialist repairs are required
Performing quality control checks and validation tests to verify instrument accuracy and performance
Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements and internal standard operating procedures
Providing technical support to laboratory staff regarding instrument operation and maintenance
Contributing to the continuous improvement of calibration processes and documentation systems
What we're looking for
A recognised qualification in laboratory technology, calibration, metrology or a related discipline
Proven experience working as a calibration technician or in a similar laboratory technical role, ideally within a scientific or analytical environment
Comprehensive knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty and precision measurement techniques
Proficiency in using calibration equipment and precision measurement instruments
Strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control and laboratory best practices
Familiarity with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management standards
Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping abilities
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining effective communication with team members
Computer literacy and experience with laboratory management systems or data recording software
A commitment to safety and compliance within the laboratory environment
Preferred: Previous experience with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, mass spectrometry or spectroscopic equipment
