Our engineering team is entering our next phase of growth, and we are looking out for an effective and people-centric VP of engineering to join us on this phase shift.
The mission for this role is to grow and manage the engineering team, assess the time it will take to deliver features (or products), and deliver quality releases on that schedule.
Key Responsibilities Include
Coordinate the engineering roadmap with product team, providing accurate resource and timeline estimations, and managing that timeline.
Grow the engineering team to 30 top-notch engineers through a consistent recruitment process, candidate experience, and onboarding process; build out an effective middle management layer for the engineering team.
Ensure execution by breaking big problems down and imposing order on ambiguity, introduce metrics to measure productivity and effectiveness, and own processes that drive them.
Effectively engage and retain the engineering team.
Effective at recruiting A players, grooming leaders and removing wrong hires. Has high standards and raises the team to that level. Sets priorities effectively. Has Experience managing 10-25 engineers.
Able to work across the company to foster a culture of architecture that allows for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling.
Actively works with the security team to set and refine company-wide security strategy. Fosters a security-first mindset across the company.
Upholds the coding quality of engineers across teams by exercising and propagating practices for pair programming, code review, mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing.
Understands company testing approach, and uses quality metrics to identify gaps. Drives company-wide testing strategy.
Leads incident response across the engineering department as needed. Uses systematic debugging to diagnose issues across the company.
Has deep expertise in across several technical domains, and frequently leverages this for high-impact company projects or products.
