Job description for Video Editor at Utter Media
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a creative and adaptable Video Editor to join our team and create engaging content for social media.
You’ll be turning ideas into videos that are not only visually strong, but also feel relevant to the way people consume content today. A good understanding of social media trends, pacing, editing styles, and content formats is important for this role.
If you have a strong eye for detail, enjoy experimenting with creative ideas, and know what makes people stop scrolling, we’d love to see what you can do.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in video editing, preferably with a focus on social media content.
The experience requirement may be negotiable depending on the quality and relevance of your portfolio.
Creativity & Trend Awareness
Creative, adaptable, and highly aware of current social media trends.
Strong understanding of current content formats, editing styles, pacing, and trends.
Able to turn creative ideas into compelling video content through strong creative thinking and execution.
- English Proficiency
Very fluent in spoken English.
Strong verbal communication skills.
- Equipment
Candidates are expected to have a capable computer suitable for professional video editing:
Windows: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or above preferred as the minimum specification.
Apple: MacBook Pro with M3 chip or above preferred as the minimum specification.
- Software
CapCut — minimum requirement
Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro — preferred
DaVinci Resolve — a strong plus, particularly for candidates with advanced knowledge of colour grading and effects.
- Remote Work Setup
Reliable and stable internet connection suitable for remote work, video calls, and transferring large video files.
LOCATION
This is a remote position.
Candidates based in Jakarta and Tangerang are preferred, but not compulsory. Candidates from other locations are also welcome to apply and will be considered based on their suitability for the role.
