Job description for Software QA Engineer (Manual) at Ula
- Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery

- Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases
- Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
- Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results
- Very good at manual testing of web and windows based applications, web services testing and integration testing of a complex system
- Good in SQL to write medium complex join queries to validate the data in the Database
- Good understanding of JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.
- Understand the requirements and transform those into Test Cases and ET Charters
- Perform various types of testing like sanity, functional, exploratory, integration and system testing to ensure that the product delivered is of high quality
- Support the Planning of test schedules in accordance with project scope/delivery dates and ensure that the timelines are adhered to without fail
- Participate in user story reviews to provide input on functional requirements, Acceptance Criteria, schedules, or potential problems
- Have very good knowledge on SDLC and STLC life cycles and working knowledge in agile
- In a startup environment, you’ll be expected to be flexible to work across the stack from the middleware to the backend business logic to the persistence layer and the network layer
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or in any related engineering discipline
- 2-5 years full-time mobile development experience in Software testing
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies
- Experience in testing web services like SOAP, REST
- Hands-on experience in Services testing tools like Fiddler, Postman, JSON Lint
- Experience in using CI tools like TFS, SVN, etc.
- Experience in test management tools like TFS, MTM, ALM, etc.
- Strong in Database and SQL skills
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Prior experience of testing LIMS would be an added advantage
- Excel at working in small, dynamic, and fast-paced groups
