At Solar AI, we want to use technology to simplify the solar experience for everyone.
Our solution: building intelligence for rooftop solar projects. By combining geospatial analysis of satellite imagery with big data and artificial intelligence, Solar AI empowers solar sales teams to discover qualified leads and prioritize their sales efforts for rooftop solar.
Solar AI is a seed stage start-up funded by and incubated as part of ENGIE Factory, the dedicated venture arm for ENGIE Group in Asia-Pacific with a mission to accelerate the transition to zero-carbon. Our founding team came from backgrounds of working with technology companies and Series A to D stage start-ups across the world.
The opportunity
In the Software Engineer role, you’ll gain valuable experience and have the opportunity to shape the technological trajectory of our business as an early member in a start-up. You’ll be working closely with our Lead Product Software Engineer and be a part of a small but collaborative community in ENGIE Factory, passionate about using technology and innovation to solve climate change.
We don’t see our interns any differently from one of us. If you’re up for it, lead teams, craft strategies or drive new initiatives – the sky’s the limit.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Work closely with our Lead Engineer to develop our cloud-based Minimum Viable Product from the ground up
- Design, development, and implementation of web application
- Assist with the creation of a full system pipeline and architecture

Who we’re looking for
- Students who are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience in web and web application development
- Knowledgeable in documenting software code
- Good understanding of using version control (Git)
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Good understanding of progressive, responsive, and clean UI/UX design
- Understanding of relational databases such as Postgres and Elasticsearch a bonus
Please note that only Singaporeans or PRs and students from local Polytechnics or Universities will be eligible for this position.
Contract type and location
You must be able to commit full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks, up to a maximum of 6 months. The role will be based in Singapore with a flexible start date.
