Job description for Social Content & Growth Specialist at Savvy Renovator
We've put together a first draft of our Instagram content strategy for our launch. What we need now is someone to take this starting point, turn the plan into real posts, get the account moving, and stay close to what's working so the strategy keeps improving. This is a 3-month freelance engagement.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be given the strategy document on day one, but you're not just following it — you're the one making the calls on what a specific post should look like, what to try next, and what to drop if it's not working.
Your Responsibilities
Content Creation & Design
- Turn our content pillars and launch calendar into real posts: write captions in our brand voice, design carousels, and edit Reels (including screen recordings of the product).
- Build out our Instagram visual templates (carousel covers, checklist layouts, verdict cards, Reel intros) based on our existing brand look — the goal is a small set of templates we can reuse quickly, not a one-off design for every post.
- Keep the visual system consistent across posts so the account feels like one brand, not a grab-bag of ideas.
Social Media Management & Growth
- Own day-to-day posting and Stories, and keep to the content calendar (while helping us adjust it as we learn).
- Reply to comments and DMs in a way that sounds like us — helpful and direct, never condescending.
- Track what's actually working — saves, shares, follows, link clicks to our sign-up form — and give us a short weekly read on what to do more or less of.
- Identify and reach out to homeowner-influencer accounts or other Singapore renovation/design accounts for light, organic collaboration.
Marketing & Strategy Support
- Help us evolve the content pillars and series based on real results, not guesswork.
- Explore GenAI tools for content creation (image generation, video/caption editing) and shortlist the ones actually worth using for a small team.
- Support the shift from pre-launch content into launch-week content, and help us plan the transition into what comes next.
- Take on other creative or research projects related to the brand as they come up.
What We Are Looking For
Strong writing skills in English — able to write short, confident copy, not just long-form.
Comfortable with Canva or Figma; some video editing experience is a strong plus.
A genuine interest in how Instagram actually works today — Reels vs. carousels, what gets saved and shared, why a post does or doesn't perform. Having run or grown a personal or brand Instagram account is a big plus.
Comfortable being both the strategist and the person who presses "post."
Interest in home renovation or interior design is a plus but not required — curiosity about the topic matters more than expertise. Advantageous if you've managed your own home renovation.
Open to learning and experimenting with AI tools as part of how you work, not just as a topic you research.
What's In It For You
Work from home when you need deep focus, and join us in person for check-ins, brainstorming, or whenever we need to sync up.
You'll be helping shape how a brand goes to market — content system, first followers, first real engagement — which is a rare, concrete thing to point to on a resume or portfolio. Great for students or mid-career professionals in transition.
You'll be making decisions that have real strategic impact, not just executing someone else's exact instructions.
You'll be part of a supportive team where experimentation is encouraged, and every contribution counts.
