Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Architecture
• Architect, design, and manage scalable relational database schemas, tables, views, and keys following proper normalization standards.
• Ensure data integrity, referral constraints, and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) security model.
• Prepare deployment and migration scripts across Development, Test, and Production environments.
Development & Programmability
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL Stored Procedures, User-Defined Functions (Scalar and Table-Valued), and Database Triggers.
• Implement robust transaction management (TRY...CATCH, COMMIT, ROLLBACK) and set appropriate isolation levels for concurrency control.
• Design efficient views, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and complex window functions for backend logic.
Performance Tuning & Indexing
• Analyze graphical execution plans and rewrite inefficient T-SQL queries to reduce I/O and CPU overhead.
• Monitor performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and blocking issues using Extended Events, SQL Profiler, Activity Monitor, and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs).
• Design and execute indexing strategies (Clustered, Non-Clustered, Filtered, Composite) and manage index maintenance (rebuild/reorganize).
Tools, Administration & Reporting
• Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for everyday database development and administration workflows.
• Configure and maintain automated SQL Server Agent jobs for maintenance, scheduling, and data processing.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain parameterized reports, matrix reports, and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a SQL Server Developer or Database Developer.
• Core Skills: Strong proficiency in T-SQL, schema design, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Performance Optimization: Hands-on experience reading execution plans, using DMVs, and applying advanced indexing strategies.
• Tools: Proficiency in SSMS, SQL Server Agent, Extended Events/Profiler, and SSRS.
• Integration: Familiarity with application integration (e.g., .NET / C# backend frameworks) and basic ETL concepts.
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or cloud-hosted database environments.
