The Opportunity

CLIENT POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a genuinely passionate Mid/Senior Software Engineer to join the team in Sydney. They are looking to rebuild their global routing system for their voice network, to enable them to support the scale and scope of the future networks. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to architecting and building a brand-new tech stack from the ground up, using modern technologies and the latest development practices.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and will help drive an Engineering culture based on strong DevOps principles so that our client can frequently release their product.
This is a full-stack role with a backend focus (Java) and would suit someone with JS/React experience who wants to transition into a Java Engineer but still enjoys exposure to React, or an experienced Java developer with some React experience. The role will involve hands-on coding and will best suit someone willing to embrace the latest cloud technologies. With an agile mindset, you will drive this passion into the team and the broader company.

- Continually pushing for and implementing engineering best practices

- Train and mentor all members of your team when needed
Experience & Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong hands-on coding in a range of languages, including some Java experience
- Good experience in React/JS
- Nice to have working exposure with C++
- Exposure to microservices and/or micro frontends
- Experience with effective monitoring, logging, and security best practices
- You are a person who continually self learns and improves your technical skillsets, and shares information with your team
- Bonus points for experience in any of the following: AWS, Lambda, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, CI/CD
