Job Description
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Developer that would be passionate about being part of a preventative health movement.
You will need to be a team player with a flexible attitude to work alongside a team of developers that have a family orientated culture led by a seasoned CTO.
You will also need to have the nurturing characteristics for providing support and guidance to the other developers.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Prioritise, assign work tasks to software developers, monitor performance and report progress
- Provide specialist expertise in the development, use and operation of database management system tools and facilities
- Select appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise solution architectures and ensure they are applied effectively
- Review system designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple technologies and systems
- Evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major design options and assess and manage associated risks
- Design, code, test, correct, and document moderately complex programs and program modifications from requirements, using agreed standards and tools
- Analyse data requirements to establish, modify or maintain object/data models
- Evaluate potential solutions and demonstrate, install and commission selected product
- Support and/or challenge proposed development standards to ensure best practice activities will continue to deliver benefits to all projects
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Science or demonstrable practical experience
- Experience in the software framework Ruby on Rails
- Experience in object oriented programming, Ruby, Java, Python, Android, iOS
- Experience in web development tools, viz., AngularJS, KnockoutJS, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery and JavaScript. Experienced in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
- Database expertise including PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.
Bonus points (but not essential) include:
- Experience in clinical software development
- Experience in the development methodologies of Agile and Continuous Integration
