Job description for Senior Cook at Fas.a.Fas Bakery & Café

Fas a Fas Bakery & Café is looking for an experienced Senior Cook to join our kitchen team in Ubud, Bali.

This role is suited for someone with a strong foundation in Western cuisine, solid kitchen discipline, and the ability to maintain consistency while working efficiently with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute menu items according to Fas a Fas recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Oversee daily mise en place and ensure the kitchen is ready for service
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, presentation, and serving time
  • Guide and support junior kitchen team members during preparation and service
  • Monitor ingredient quality, stock usage, and food waste
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen organization
  • Coordinate closely with the service, purchasing, and other relevant teams
  • Support menu trials and improvements under the direction of the Executive Chef
  • Assist in maintaining smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in cafés, restaurants, or hospitality establishments
  • Previous experience in a senior cook or similar position is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Western cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • Able to follow recipes and operational standards consistently
  • Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Organized, responsible, and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Currently based in Bali or willing to relocate to Ubud

The Senior Cook will report directly to our Executive Chef.
