Job description for Product & Project Engineer (Battery Systems) at Sodion Energy Pte Ltd
Build battery products that reach real customers
Sodion Energy is a growing Singapore deep-tech team bringing sodium-ion battery products from engineering and testing to real customer deployments. We are hiring TWO Product & Project Engineers for the same combined technical and project-delivery role. Reporting to the CTO, each engineer will work on an assigned product line and act as the technical/project contact for at least one major customer account. You will see your engineering work through to the field, not just one stage of development. Fresh graduates with sound fundamentals and a strong sense of ownership are welcome.
Your work
- Own the engineering work of an assigned battery product line, including hands-on validation and technical problem-solving.
- Help improve products through component reviews, testing, documentation and design changes.
- Work directly with cell, BMS and enclosure suppliers, including factory visits in China.
- Carry out battery bench tests, analyse results and investigate defects or field returns.
- Be the day-to-day technical and project contact for at least one major customer account: plan timelines, manage deliverables, coordinate customer trials/deployments and close out technical issues.
- Use AI tools routinely for research, reports and data analysis, while verifying engineering conclusions.
You should have
- A diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline; project or internship experience counts.
- Basic understanding of battery voltage, capacity, series/parallel connection and BMS functions.
- Confidence using or learning lab tools such as multimeters, power supplies, battery testers and data logging.
- Confident spoken Mandarin; you will interact directly with Chinese suppliers.
- Good spoken and written English; readiness to travel to China and within Southeast Asia.
- Singapore Citizen or PR status - required for customer-site and defence-related project access.
- Ability to manage schedules, stakeholders and follow-ups without losing sight of engineering quality; willingness to work with AI-assisted tools.
