Job description for Phonics Teacher at RW Academy
At RW Academy, our classes are tailored for children between 3 and 7 years old. We help children become confident in reading, writing, and speaking
through structured, play-based, multi-sensory Jolly Phonics and Literacy programme. We believe every child learns differently, and we are looking for teachers who are committed to making learning joyful, supportive, and impactful.
Responsibilities
- Teach phonics, literacy, reading, and writing classes for young children
- Create a fun, engaging, and safe classroom environment
- Guide children with patience, encouragement, and positivity
- Prepare lesson materials, worksheets, and classroom activities
- Build good relationships and communicate confidently with parents
- Prepare simple parent updates and class communications
- Take photos and short videos of classroom activities and students for parent updates and school marketing purposes
- Welcome and receive students arriving at the centre
- Ensure students are safely dismissed and handed over to parents after class
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organisation, and teaching materials
- Support students’ learning progress and classroom participation
- Work closely with the team and contribute beyond teaching duties when needed
